“HooshHash”—known in English as Bitter Orange—is the ancient citrus that has grown in Middle Eastern soil for centuries. Valued for its resilience and hardiness, it was traditionally used as rootstock for grafting edible orange varieties like Shamouti and Valencia.
Though many dismiss the thorny tree and its bitter fruit, in the world of perfumery and herbal medicine, bitter oranges are considered a hidden treasure—both for their medicinal properties and, above all, for their uniquely powerful aroma, entirely distinct from common sweet oranges.
It was this rare aromatic profile that inspired us to ferment and distill locally grown HooshHash from the Sharon region. The result is remarkable: a crystal-clear spirit with a complex citrus bouquet and a rich, oily body. It can be enjoyed either as the base of a light cocktail, or neat in a snifter glass—just like a fine brandy.
